As I’m writing this blog entry, I’m currently sitting at the transit area of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) waiting for my connecting flight via Emirates from KL to Dubai, and eventually another flight to my holiday destination: Istanbul, Turkey.

Yesterday was my last working day as a digital marketing manager in a publishing company where I’ve worked for four straight years.

I consider my stint there as my ultimate ‘comfort zone’ as I’ve already mastered the ins-and-outs of my daily—and almost routinary—work responsibilities. I come and leave the office ‘at peace’ with myself without the worry of succumbing to work-related stress. It was a hassle-free life I would say.

But then came the urge to try out something new.

I eventually landed on a new role in a digital advertising agency where I can possibly learn new things beyond I can currently fathom. And it’s scaring the hell out of me.

While holding a senior account manager role is a new badge I can wear with pride, the idea of jumping into the unknown with only a piece of candle to light your way through a deep, dark tunnel is something seemingly daunting. I find myself at times asking too many questions—Can I do this? Do I want this? Will I learn fast enough?

This 10-day break, this transit period, before I start my new work is a good time for me to ponder (on things that have probably brought me to this new role, my new destination) and to accept (that things fall on your lap for a reason).

I remember seeing spiritual leader Bo Sanchez’s post the other day on Facebook that helped me understand the potential of shaking things up a bit in your life.

Life is designed for us to progress. If we don’t see any struggles, then maybe it’s time to re-assess how we can come out from the rut and how to boldly walk toward a new direction.

Ciao for now… of to Turkey in a few!
