After winning the Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin Film Festival last February, director Lav Diaz brings honor to the country again as he bagged the top award at the 73rd Venice Film Festival (Venezia 73, 2016). Diaz was awarded the “Golden Lion for Best Film” for his entry “Ang Babaeng Humayo” (The Woman Who Left) which is ABS-CBN honcho Charo Santos-Concio‘s comeback film project. With Diaz in Venice, Italy to attend the said film festival are Santos and prized Kapamilya actor-Star Magic artist John Lloyd Cruz. JLC is also part of the film’s cast.
