After five cycles of Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM), we finally have our first Filipina grand winner. She’s none other than Maureen Wroblewitz.

The youngest and shortest among all the contestants, Maureen has been “bullied” throughout the competition by fellow models. The other ladies often mocked her for having just a pretty face but with poor modeling skills. In the end, the Filipina stood out from the rest for her grace and exuberant confidence.

3rd Best Performance and Top 4?! ? I’m so close to the finale, just one more step! • I’ve learned a lot about myself throughout this competition. But the most important thing I’ve learned, is that I never give up. I’ll keep fighting no matter what and I’ll be doing this for all of you ❤ I also wanted to thank you all for the amazing support! You all mean the world to me! So many people have been telling me how proud they are of me and you have no idea how much those words mean to me. I hope I inspire every single one of you to go out there and do what you want to do. Don’t ever give up on your dreams because other people make it seem impossible! Anything is possible! You just gotta work hard always and never doubt yourself ❤❤❤ #AsNTM #AsNTM5 #TeamPhilippines #TeamMaureen #PhilippinesOnTop

INSTA SCOOP: Filipina model Jodilly Pendre, who was a runner-up in AsNTM Cycle 2, was with Maureen and her other friends at the AsNTM Cycle 5 Grand Finale Live Viewing Party at the Palace Pool Club in Manila. While doing an Instagram LIVE after the winner’s announcement, she said: “Finally, nabawi na ang korona... justice has been served.”

Was Jodilly implying something else? After all, there were some speculations that she should have won during her season, and yet the producers decided to pass the title to someone else. Hmmm, interesting!
