Eighteen-year-old teen actress Christine Lim went above and beyond during the world’s fight against coronavirus by launching a series of fundraising initiatives for her quarantined hometown in Capas, Tarlac.

On April 8, 2020, the AsterisK talent first launched her “Lingap-BAYANi Project” that she described as a “fundraising activity, which gives utmost recognition and support to our BAYANi-healthworkers and frontliners.”

Among her most recent activities under said project is “TENTative Home” where she gifted Ospital Ning Capas one hospital tent with 20 beds, mats, aircon/ electric fans, and pillows.

One of my dreams when I was a child is to become a medical professional. As they perform their profession, they could also help the needy in living the precious gift called, life. ♥️ ‘TENTative Home’, another fundraising activity under the LINGAP-BAYANi project. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This initiative is being pushed through to protect our first line of defense. With that, we would like to give them 1 hospital tent, with inclusions of mats, aircon/electric fans and pillows. To those who would like to donate cash out of kindness, you may donate through my bdo account below. You may also help via donating in-kind. God bless us all.

Considering how blessed I am despite the COVID-19 situation, I initiated Lingap Batang Capaseños project with my savings and donations from friends and other concerned citizens.. From there I thought I could do more. I wanted to help and it came to my attention that no other donors came forward to provide the temporary tent. TENTative Home. It’s a small project close to my heart because my father himself is a frontliner. He serves Capas and stays away from home to ensure our safety so I personally know the hardships of other frontliners. More so, medical frontliners. Hoping other donors would also come forward to donate othee needs of our frontliners, be it masks, goggles, etc. So I also want to start a Lingap Bayani Project for PPEs of frontliners. So if there are also others who would like to donate, feel free to send a message so we could put our efforts together. #WeHealAsOne

Christine had no hesitations about doing the work when she noticed the lack of temporary shelters for the frontliners. Thus, the idea of providing a tentative home popped up.

She said that this need became extra clear to her after her father Reynaldo Catacutan, the town’s mayor, had to stay away from home to ensure their family’s safety.

“It’s a small project close to my heart because my father himself is a frontliner. He serves Capas and stays away from home to ensure our safety so I personally know the hardships of other frontliners. More so, medical frontliners.”

Christine emphasized, “This initiative is being pushed through to protect our first line of defense.”

Aside from the hospital tents, her “Lingap-BAYANi Project” also helped gather 7,500 boxes of powdered milk for children from ages 1 to 3 who have been quarantined in their town.

To GOD be the greatest glory! ???????? It’s the 35th day of the enhanced community quarantine, and still, God never fails to clothe me with strength. At the age of 18, I am thinking of how I could positively impact the lives of my fellow Capaseños. To be a proactive member of the society, is one of my goals. But it comes with difficulties, difficulties that you need to endure for the sake of your fellowmen. This is not to brag, but this is my way to be loud and to be proud as I share one of my goals to everyone. I hope that this goal would inspire and would serve as stepping stone for us to work hand in hand. Always remember, if we have the means to help, HELP. If we have the chance to inspire, INSPIRE. In line with this, I would like to give the limelight to the donors who really showed unending support throughout this task. You are my sturdy backbone. I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to my family for their unending guidance and support as I fulfill this mission. We collected 600,000 from our fundraising activity called Lingap-Batang Capaseños (Ayudang Gatas) and this amount was used to purchase milk products for our batang Capaseños. Last week, we postponed the distribution due to the lack of supply. And good thing, a while back, I was happy because ‘Ayudang gatas para sa mga Batang Capaseños’ are here! This will cater 7,500 batang Capaseños. The distribution will resume tomorrow, April 22, 2020 by our SK Members. From the bottom of my heart, dakal a dakal a salamat keng kekayung alang sawang sawup para keng Capas at para keng Capaseños!????????

Entitled households with toddlers were given two milk boxes, each containing 30 milk packs. She first initiated this project to aid medical frontliners by providing them with adequate amount of personal protection equipment (PPEs) including isolation gowns, N95 and surgical masks, alcohol, shoe covers, Hazmat suits, safety goggles, and surgical gloves

Moreso, she was also able to provide UV Cabinets that can disinfect protective personal equipment using ultraviolet rays.

Started with her own savings amounting to PHP 200,000 and donations from family and friends, Christine was able to pull off the first wave of her gift-giving last April 13.

Since then, donations including food packs, bottles of Vitamin Cmaternity kits, sanitary napkins, Ethyl Alcohol 70% Solution, face masks and latex examination gloves have been pouring for her beloved hometown.
