Teen star Christine Lim frontlines for frontliners, raises funds for Tarlac
Eighteen-year-old teen actress Christine Lim went above and beyond during the world’s fight against coronavirus by launching a series of fundraising initiatives for her quarantined hometown in Capas, Tarlac.
On April 8, 2020, the AsterisK talent first launched her “Lingap-BAYANi Project” that she described as a “fundraising activity, which gives utmost recognition and support to our BAYANi-healthworkers and frontliners.”
Among her most recent activities under said project is “TENTative Home” where she gifted Ospital Ning Capas one hospital tent with 20 beds, mats, aircon/ electric fans, and pillows.
Christine had no hesitations about doing the work when she noticed the lack of temporary shelters for the frontliners. Thus, the idea of providing a tentative home popped up.
She said that this need became extra clear to her after her father Reynaldo Catacutan, the town’s mayor, had to stay away from home to ensure their family’s safety.
“It’s a small project close to my heart because my father himself is a frontliner. He serves Capas and stays away from home to ensure our safety so I personally know the hardships of other frontliners. More so, medical frontliners.”
Christine emphasized, “This initiative is being pushed through to protect our first line of defense.”
Aside from the hospital tents, her “Lingap-BAYANi Project” also helped gather 7,500 boxes of powdered milk for children from ages 1 to 3 who have been quarantined in their town.

Through “Lingap Batang Capaseños (Ayudang Gatas),” the group was able to collect PHP 600,000 that was used to purchase the milk products.
Entitled households with toddlers were given two milk boxes, each containing 30 milk packs. She first initiated this project to aid medical frontliners by providing them with adequate amount of personal protection equipment (PPEs) including isolation gowns, N95 and surgical masks, alcohol, shoe covers, Hazmat suits, safety goggles, and surgical gloves.
Moreso, she was also able to provide UV Cabinets that can disinfect protective personal equipment using ultraviolet rays.
Started with her own savings amounting to PHP 200,000 and donations from family and friends, Christine was able to pull off the first wave of her gift-giving last April 13.
Since then, donations including food packs, bottles of Vitamin C, maternity kits, sanitary napkins, Ethyl Alcohol 70% Solution, face masks and latex examination gloves have been pouring for her beloved hometown.
